I’ve been playing with FlipBoard on the iPad as an interesting way to read Twitter. While FlipBoard is very cool, it currently requires an iPad.
I was listening to Leo Laporte’s TWIT podcast when someone compared FlipBoard with Paper.li. I checked out Paper.li today and it is almost as cool as FlipBoard, but available in any browser.
My first try at creating a newspaper is here. I pared my Twitter follow list down to 28 people who regularly tweet about Excel or PowerPivot. That list currently includes @dennylee, @dkusleika, @donalddotfarmer, @eavb, @Excel_Geek, @exceldashboards, @exceltips, @ExcelZone, @Jon_Peltier, @kjonge, @kpuls, @microsoft_excel, @MrExcel, @mrexcel_east, @MSOfficeUS, @nbrgraphs, @nick_hodge, @Office, @powerpivot, @PowerPivotBlog, @powerpivotinfo, @powerpivotpro, @powerpivotyoda, @R1C1, @rgovier, @SmittyPro, and @WessexBob. If you know of others who regularly post about Excel and include their posts in Twitter, let me know and I will include them.
Paper.li refreshes once a day, so it is not quite as up-to-date as going straight to http://twitter.com/MrExcelArticles/excelnews, but the reading format of Paper.li is pretty cool.
